Abstract

This is a joint Bedford BCS and IET meeting.

You are warmly invited to attend a free event at the University of Buckingham on Thursday 27 December 2014.</p For the third consecutive year, Applied Computing students taking the Mobile Applications Development module at the University of Buckingham will present the apps they are developing. This module introduces students to the technical and programming concepts involved in the creation of Apps for smart phones. In addition to these apps, a selection of final-year student projects will be demonstrated on the day.

The event will begin with an overview of the Mobile Applications Development module – the progress since last year – and will conclude with a presentation of the new BSc CSE programme followed by a road map for the next few years.

This year's mobile apps presentations will be a joint event hosted by the Applied Computing Department and BCS Bedford Branch, signifying the rapid development of this module and the extensive engagement the Bedford BCS branch is developing with University departments and other organisations

The Bedford BCS will also present its annual award to the most promising student.

As in the previous two years, software engineers, technology entrepreneurs, employers, and business leaders are invited to attend the student presentations and demo sessions. Engagement with external participants has been very well received in the past by students and staff alike.

Further information about students’ projects can be found at: http://www.buckingham.ac.uk/latest-news/app-y-students/.

We hope that you and/or your colleagues will be able to attend this event.
