Abstract

Cybercrime Cyber crimes and ransomware are now part of everyday life and business. The volume, intensity and types are evolving rapidly. Apart from the headline cases in the news, many more are affecting individuals and businesses are unreported. This meeting provides an update on the current and emerging cyber threats, resources and good practice to avoid us being victims, insurance as part of the business continuity actions, and what happens after an attack

Michael Williams, the Cyber Protect and Prevent officer in the Bedfordshire Police, is to give an overview of Fraud/Scams in Bedfordshire and the current threats Businesses are facing. Michael shall signpost significant current threats and signpost resources that could help us avoid being victims.

Martin Blower, A-Plan Insurance, is to explain the types of insurance available to businesses. Using recent examples, Martin is going to explain the process used by the insurance industry to help their clients to be robust, and what happens if a claim needs to be made.
