Abstract

Low-code

Many people fear computer programming. The excitement of writing lines of code to create ‘Hello World’ is not universal. Low-Code and No-Code programming have emerged as viable approach to create computer programmes with little, or even no, lines of codes. The programmes are created by manipulating programme constructs with a Graphical User Interface.

In this session, we’ll take a tour of one of the most versatile Low-Code tools available that completely embraces the idea of Flow-based programming. Node-RED is a visual program layout and connection environment, designed to maximise the use of existing (community-develop) code across a very broad range of application areas and platforms – from Raspberry PI to mainframe, mobile phones to cloud services.
