Abstract

Half of businesses (50%) and around a third of charities (32%) report having experienced some form of cyber security breach or attack in the last 12 months, according to the Cyber Security Breaches Survey published on 9 April 2024. This is much higher for medium businesses (70%), large businesses (74%) and high-income charities with £500,000 or more in annual income (66%). The

Bedfordshire Police is to provide an update of the cyber risk situation in the branch local area. Delegates would gain an understanding of the types of attacks and strengthen their defence plans. Practical advice shall be given to avoid us becoming victims of cybercrime. Recommendations to respond in the unfortunate event of an attack would be explained to preserve evidence and improve the chance of recovery. The Cyber Choices shall be introduced, this is the national programme designed to reduce cybercrime, including illegal hacking of computers and networks, denial of service and the writing, distribution, or deployment of malware.
